The learning center of the Mae Fah Luang Thai Hill Tribe Community in Ban Om Sung is very useful for the community of Ban Om Sung because it is a learning center that teaches basic non-formal education from primary to secondary school level. It also teaches vocational courses to the villagers in the community, such as weaving, cooking, and a library for children and youth. In addition, the learning center of Ban Om Sung can also be used as a space for volunteer doctors or a health center that provides health check-ups for the community.
Currently, the original learning center of Ban Om Sung is small and cramped. In addition, in order to provide more opportunities for people in the community to gain education, the original location is not enough for teaching and learning. Therefore, the community leaders would like to ask for help from the Santisuk Foundation, which had the opportunity to visit the community and talk to many villagers. They found that this learning center is very important to the villagers because the original small center will be converted into a nursery for children aged 3 to 6 years.
Currently, the learning center building of the Mae Fah Luang Thai Hill Tribe Community in Ban Om Sung has been completed with a budget raised by the ʜᴇʟᴘ ᴋᴇᴇᴘᴇʀ Volunteer People page. However, the interior space is still not complete, such as the tiling of the school building floor. This includes materials for classroom partitions for non-formal education centers, libraries, and vocational teaching rooms for villagers, as well as bookshelves and various IT equipment such as printers to facilitate photocopying documents for villagers who need them. Santisuk Foundation has therefore set up a project to create educational opportunities to develop life skills in remote areas.
